Trust and safety

What is checked, what is not claimed, and what happens when a booking goes wrong.

Trust pages are usually written to reassure. This one is written to be checkable. It sets out what BaliBetween verifies, what it deliberately does not claim, and what actually happens when something goes wrong.

What is verified about a venue

Every venue is a registered business operating from a real premises. Before a venue can receive a customer request, all of the following have to have been gathered and reviewed:

  • Business identity — the legal entity behind the venue
  • Business registration or NIB evidence — that the business is registered
  • Physical location — that the address is a real, visitable premises
  • A responsible person — a named person accountable for the venue
  • Payout account — a verified account in the business name
  • Services reviewed — what is offered, and that it is in scope
  • Applicable qualification or licence — where the treatment type requires one
  • Cancellation contact — someone reachable when a booking changes
  • Trust and safety screening — screening before a venue is activated

What BaliBetween does not claim

A verification is a statement about business facts, and it stops there. Specifically:

  • It does not mean BaliBetween has inspected every treatment room, or audited hygiene procedures.
  • It does not mean a treatment is medically appropriate for you. These are non-medical services, and nothing on this site is medical advice.
  • It does not mean the venue is the cheapest, the best-reviewed, or endorsed. BaliBetween does not publish a ranking or sell position.
  • It does not extend to in-villa or freelance therapists. Those provider types are switched off in this version, precisely because the same verification cannot be done.

Where reviews come from

A review can only be written by a customer who completed a booking through BaliBetween. There are no imported reviews, no reviews written by BaliBetween, and no incentive paid for a positive one. Until there are completed bookings there are no reviews shown at all, which is the honest state rather than an empty widget.

When something goes wrong

Anything that goes wrong is recorded as an incident with an owner. Incidents involving personal safety are handled differently from an ordinary service complaint: they cannot be closed by an automated system, they require a human decision, and a commercial outcome never overrides a safety finding.

For a booking problem — the venue cancels, the treatment is not what was confirmed, you cannot attend — the path depends on when it happens:

  1. Before you pay. The offer is removed and nothing is owed.
  2. After payment, before the appointment. The booking goes into recovery, the frozen price you paid does not change while that runs, and you are told what is happening.
  3. The venue cancels. The same recovery process, with BaliBetween holding the booking rather than leaving you to argue with the venue.

Your information

BaliBetween collects what a booking needs: a mobile number to verify the request, the treatment details, and payment details handled by the payment provider rather than stored by us. Verification codes, session state and booking details are never cached in shared or public caches — those pages are marked private at the server, and that behaviour is tested.

What is collected, how long it is kept, and how to ask for it to be removed is set out in the privacy notice. Until a legally reviewed notice is published, ask us directly at hello@balibetween.id and we will answer rather than point at a document that does not exist yet.

Where BaliBetween is honest about its stage

BaliBetween is not yet commercially open. The booking journey is built and gated off, and it opens one area at a time, once enough venues in that area are verified to confirm a time reliably. This site says so on the pages that would otherwise imply a working marketplace, because the alternative — showing booking UI that does not work — would be the exact kind of invented availability this company exists to avoid.
